What Are The Benefits Of Lithium-ion Batteries?

Jul 09, 2023Leave a message

Lithium ion batteries generally use materials containing lithium as electrodes, which are representative of modern high-performance batteries. However, true lithium batteries are rarely used in daily electronic products due to their high risk.
1. Long cycle life: The charging and discharging rate of lithium-ion batteries is 1C. Its cycle life is greater than or equal to 500 times, however, even if lead-acid batteries are discharged at 0.5 ℃ and charged at 0.15 ℃, their cycle life is less than or equal to 350 times, and their capacitance is less than or equal to 60%.
2. Good low-temperature discharge performance: Lithium ion batteries can operate normally at -25 ℃, with a capacity of up to 70% of the standard. Lead acid batteries can reach 50% capacity at -10 ℃, but cannot function properly at -25 ℃.
3. Strong charging capacity: Place a fully charged lithium-ion battery for 2 months, with a capacity greater than or equal to 80%, while a lead-acid battery is only 40% -50% of its nominal capacity when left for 2 months.
4. Great perseverance. Lithium ion batteries are only 30% heavier than lead-acid batteries, so they are more durable at the same voltage and capacity.
5. High specific energy: Due to the fact that the volume of lithium-ion batteries is only 30% of that of lead-acid batteries, the energy reserve of lithium-ion batteries is greater than that of lead-acid batteries in the same space usage.
6. Wide operating temperature range: Lithium ion batteries can operate at -25C-55C, while lead-acid batteries can only operate at 10C-40C.
7. Short charging time: Lithium ion batteries can be charged at high currents, with a charging time of only 4-5 hours, while lead-acid batteries require 8-10 hours.
8. High environmental performance: Compared to lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries are very environmentally friendly products. Lead acid batteries contain a large amount of lead, which is a harmful heavy metal to human health and the environment.
9. High current discharge: Lithium ion batteries discharge at high current at 1C, with a capacity of only 60% of the rated capacity.
10. High current discharge does not affect cycle life: The 1.5C multiplier of lithium-ion batteries does not affect cycle life due to high current discharge. Lead acid batteries discharge at a high current of 1.5C. Its cycle life is only 30% -40% of the nominal cycle life.
